The Cover Letter.
"Your cover letter should be a precise detailing of how your skills fit the job your applying for."
Fit the job? I'm applying for? I'm applying for anything and everything that I think I might qualify for. And lines like 'multitasker, self-starter, web-content editor with search engine optomization skills' is LAME. Lame, I tell you. It's like saying, "Here, let me send you a bunch of meaningless babble in hopes that you'll wade through it and find something worthwhile." So... here! Here's a cover letter for you!
Dear Hiring Manager,
I have probably the most insane, eclectic, non-standard skill-set of anyone I know. I'm not one thing. I'm dozens of things. I'm not qualified for the jobs I should qualify for, and I'm overqualified for the 'starter' jobs that I can do. I don't fit into categories. Titles don't match my skillsets. Let me just explain that whatever it is you think you want me to do, I can probably not only do, but can excel at it in ways you never imagined possible.
So, what can I do?
I have useful office skills. I can answer the phone, even on multi-line phone systems. I can type up to 80 wpm. Yes. I said 80....

March 7th- So Long and Thanks for all the... Uh...
March 7, 2011
So, after Joss Whedon's sister-in-law tweeted that no one in the WhedonVerse supports HNBF (including the large glob of misinformation about how they were taking people's money...), the HBNF movement shuts down.
I understand, really. I've always understood. The odds against returning to Firefly are astronomical. Joss has other projects, as do everyone else involved. Fox won't part with the rights. Nothing will ever be as it was. But was that really the point of HNBF? Didn't it just feel really good to have everyone coming together for a common cause? I've never understood how so many folk can be so bitter when we all just wanted the same thing. Maybe I'm a bit naive, I guess.
I think, for me, the leap was when the HNBF folk announced the Big Damn Plan. This should have been, well, an easy-peasy, slow and gentle sort of thing. Leaping in and creating the limited partnership company the way they did? Well, I think it was too much, too fast, and still without the buy-in from Joss Whedon and clan. This thing needed to slow down, let the genuine pledges hit the 1 mill mark, and then pause and say, now what? But in the end, nearly a...

March 1st: Help Nathan Buy Firefly Site?
March 1, 2011
Ah, my dear Browncoats.
The Alliance is mighty, and the challenges facing us seem insurmountable. Sure, sometimes we will lose, our faith will be tested, and perhaps in the end, we will fail. But unless we can stand united, we'll accomplish nothing.
The Help Nathan Buy Firefly site is getting a lot of bad press from people who haven't bothered to take the time to really understand the goals of the fans who put it together. Sure, we know ever actually purchasing the intellectual property rights from Fox will probably never happen. Anyone with even the smallest understanding of film-making and television understands that.
Within minutes of going online, HNBF went viral across the Browncoat network, and broke into the mainstream on EW, Syfy, and other sites. For the first time in years, the Firefly brand was back in the attention of the public. How can that possibly ever be a bad thing?
In an attempt to counter the misunderstanding and ignorant who haven't bothered to pay attention:
- HNBF Does NOT ASK FOR MONEY! THERE IS NO WAY TO SEND THEM MONEY! THEY HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH ANY MONEY AT THIS POINT!
-HNBF asks you to PLEDGE, to give...
